Information

The abstract wooden sculpture is also an accessible platform with a level surface of 150 square metres and a total area of 200. A gently rising step, steps to sit on by the bus stop, and different angled ramps even-out the incline of the square gently.

In 2018, the art project was dismantled.

Johann Moser reacted to the complex brief to form a centre for the community that consists of more than just its position and a collection of lined-up objects on a sloping site next to the community administration building with a solution that is as clear as it is complex. Moser's artworks for public space fit naturally into the community while also fulfilling a purpose. In Kirnberg the abstract geometric sculpture is also an accessible wooden platform with a flat surface of 150sqm and a total area of 200sqm. A decisive horizontal works against the slope of the site, and the difference in heights is gently compensated for with a gradual series of steps that are suitable as seating near the bus stop and ramps at various angles. Existing objects, like a tree and a sculpture of St. Nepomuk, have been cut around and integrated in the horizontal surface. The eventual acceptance by representatives of the war veterans' society of moving the war memorial back from the edge of the road to the background is proof of the importance of rethinking the existing order of things from time to time. The new position not only calms the arena but also creates a separate and worthy space for the memorial. The new platform is even considered by some of the residents of Kirnberg to be a suitable setting to have their wedding photographs taken.
